The Grapevine

Logline: After being invited by one of her students, a novelist and literary professor arrives at a summer home for a weekend of work and conversation with the student and his boyfriend.
The script is currently under consideration for grants and production.
The Yelverton Project
The Yelverton Project (Working Title) is a micro-feature documentary film shot by Brenna Lawson and co-created by Brenna Lawson, Gina Chiusano, and David Stevenson.
The Yelverton Inn is a historic landmark in Chester, NY. The inn was constructed in 1765 and housed many historical figures including George Washington in the last years of the war, Alexander Hamilton and Aaron Burr as attorneys in a land patent dispute, and a delegate to the First Continental Congress who later voted to declare independence.
In 2025, after the owners of the Yelverton Inn were looking to sell the landmark and surrounding area for 1 million dollars, It became clear the sellers had no interest in protecting the site from potential buyers looking to tear it down.
In a race against time, the film follows members of the Chester Historical Society as they recount the history of Chester New York, and the importance of preserving historical landmarks, all in the hopes to at best protect the Yelverton from destruction, and at least to promote its conservation.
The film is in the editing process and looks to be released in late January of 2026.
